Don’t you just love those really deep, soulful voices? This one’s my tribute to those big, barrel-chested baritones whose chops could fill a room — guys who could really sell a song, if you know what I mean. Larry Vaye certainly does the business on a number all about finding a love so easy, it’s like you’ve been Lovers Before.
 
Dawson Road is a production I’m really proud of. I was reaching for a sound right on the cusp of the crossover from traditional R&B to modern soul. The harmonies are straight out of Philly, but the rhythm and bari sax licks could be Detroit players — maybe they were moonlighting?! The result is a summery, catchy singalong that’s already seen dancefloor action across Europe.
 
Demonstration copies have been pressed to vinyl and are limited to 55 copies.
