We had so many requests to do an instrumental, and what a journey this one has been on. Coz I’m Ready was the record that kicked it all off for Riker — our very first release, and the track that made the soul scene sit up and take notice.
 
For this all-new instrumental version, we started with a gorgeous arrangement and keys by Carl Symmonds, then brought in top session players from London and Nashville including Ralph Salmins, Steve Pearce, Larry Salzman and more. From there, we pulled the whole thing apart and rebuilt it using the latest AI-powered production tools. The result is a lush Philly-flavoured instrumental that might just be the perfect Sunday afternoon record.
 
Once again, Riker is proud to support the Stax Music Academy in Memphis, Tenn., and pledges the artist’s share of royalties on all vinyl sales to help nurture the next generation of soul stars. To date, we’ve donated over $5,500 to the Academy’s work, and this summer we’ll be helping co-sponsor the Stax Summer Music Camp by giving four young people the chance to experience music production first-hand.
