Why’d It Take So Long? Indeed. Those big brass blaps are inspired by Johnny Pate’s incredible arrangements for the Impressions and the vocals are a tribute to the iconic mid-sixties sound of Chicago vocal groups. I picture cool cats in mohair suits and chicks in Chelsea boots grooving at the discotheque.
